Melbourne Sports Hub lights up

News | 08 September 2011

Melbourne Sports Hub’s reputation as a leader in environmental initiatives and management has grown with the recent addition of LED lighting at the Hub’s Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC) facility.

The 200W lights are new technology by DIVVALI, the first of its kind in Australia and will feature on a trial basis in the multi-purpose and lap pool area at MSAC.

“They don’t use traditional light globes, but, a computer chip which use only 10% of the power of standard lights for the equivalent lighting levels”, said Rob Ferguson, Melbourne Sports Hub Facilities Coordinator.

With a life expediency of 50,000 hours maintenance is greatly reduced, improving MSAC’s energy consumption management.

Installation will be finished Friday 9 September and will work around scheduled programs within the area.
