Kids Lessons

MSAC Swim School has lessons for children as young as six months through to teenagers up to 16 years. There are four programs offered, that provide a natural progression from the fundamentals of swimming through to stroke correction and squad training.

Waterbabies (6 months – 3 years)

Swimming pre-school. Water familiarisation classes give the child the opportunity to become confident in the water and provides a great environment for interaction between parent and child. It is the head start that teaches awareness of the water. Classes are half an hour in duration, fully supervised by qualified instructors and have ratios of 1:10. 

Learn to Swim (3 years +)

Learn to Swim caters for children from 3 to 16 years. Classes are half an hour in duration and are fully supervised by qualified instructors. Classes focus on the fundamentals of freestyle and backstroke, with use of the latest teaching equipment. Learn to Swim classes focus on development of technique and following a modern, results-focused program that provides a great pathway to the Stroke Correction classes.

Stroke Correction

This program builds upon the fundamental skills from the Learn to Swim program. Lessons are half an hour in duration and aim to perfect the competitive strokes of freestyle and backstroke; coupled with the introduction of breaststroke and butterfly technique. The completion of the Stroke Correction program provides the necessary skills base to move up into the Squad program.

Squad

Squad classes prepare swimmers for competitive swimming at club level. The one hour classes have the joint focus of technique and fitness. Squad lessons introduce racing dives, turns and finishes, and refine the disciplines of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
